My experience in this office started well and went downhill with each visit until I finally left. I did not have the same dentist for any of my 3, 6-month cleanings, fillings, or follow-up appointment. I did not have the same hygienist after the first two visits. I had been monitoring three small cavities for two years, and I finally decided it was time to have them filled. Dr. Sorensen was so rough that my face hurt for a week following the dental work. I had to return to the office two days after the fillings because my bite was off and there was a rough spot catching my tongue. In my opinion and experience, he should have been able to polish and smooth my teeth better using the carbon paper. Approximately three months later, I had returning sensitivity at the site of the fillings on teeth 13 and 14. I returned to this office and requested to see Dr. Carlson himself and only him from that point forward. Unfortunately, he attempted to tell me I needed a root canal ($2,000 procedure and I can't complain after because I won't be able to feel anything!) Thankfully, I have family in dentistry who said absolutely not. I found a new dentist who redid the two fillings (for $27 after my insurance) causing discomfort (the conservative approach). The fillings completed at Dr. Carlson's office were "soft" and debonding. My new dentist had noted that the x-rays looked as if Dr. Sorenson had used two different materials (suspected, can't be confirmed), and after removing/replacing the fillings, my new dentist also questioned if anterior composite had been used for these two-surface fillings on my molars, which is not recommended. It was simply too soft, debonding, and came off too easily. Also, due to the leaking in the fillings, bacteria was growing in places that I could not clean (thankfully that is gone!) I am 4 hours from having the fillings redone, the numbness is gone, and I'm drinking ice cold water with NO sensitivity. Do not go to this office unless you want inconsistent service, poor chair-side manner, and to spend excessive amounts of money on unnecessary services.
